Submitting an Undergraduate Academic Petition
If you feel that you have reasonable grounds for appealing a deadline that you missed or a Faculty regulation you would like waived due to your circumstances, you must complete a formal petition to your home Faculty*. It is important that you complete the petition immediately after the circumstances that prompted the petition. Your petition is reviewed by a committee in your home Faculty who makes a decision to either grant or deny the petition. It can take from two to eight weeks to reach a decision depending on peak petition times or the type of petition.
* If you are a student in the Faculty of Education, Fine Arts, Health or Science & Engineering, visit the Undergraduate Academic Petitions section of the Registrar's Office Web site for more detailed information on submitting a petition, regulations, guidelines and to download the Undergraduate Academic Petition Package.
